MACEDON, Thessalonica. Nerva. AD 96-98. Æ (22mm, 9.29 g, 1h). Laureate head right / Legend in three lines within laurel wreath. Touratsoglou 1 (V1/R1). VF, slightly rough black and green patina, reverse deposit. Very rare.
This was the only type Thessalonica struck with the portrait of Nerva, although some pseudo-autonomous issues likely date from his reign. Touratsoglou knew of only of seven specimens, struck from a single obverse die and two reverse dies.
