THESSALY, Skotussa. Early to mid 4th century BC. AR Trihemiobol (13mm, 1.45 g, 12h). Head of Herakles r. wearing lion’s skin headdress / Σ-KO below, forepart of bridled horse walking r., being led by its rein, all in concave circular field. SNG Cop. 252; SNG Soutzos 395 (same obv. die); see also Lanz 97 (22 May 2000) 234 (same dies but later strike with rev. die flaw). VF, toned; surfaces slightly porous; obv. light scrape on head and deposit leftovers in field between 7 and 9 o’clock ; rev. lower part of devices slightly double struck; rare.
