Laureate head right / Diocletian standing left, holding globe and scepter; star in left field; (star)//SMAΣ (Σ retrograde). Cf. RIC VI 22 (CONSVL VII); Lukanc -; Depeyrot -; cf. Calicó 4440. Near EF, lustrous. Unpublished variety.


While the mint mark (star at end of legend//SMAΣ) is known for Diocletian during his sixth consulship (RIC VI 13), the addition of the star in the field is known only for the seventh consulship.
