SICILY, Segesta. Circa 455/0-445/0 BC. AR Didrachm (23mm, 8.23 g, 9h). Hound standing left; above, leaf left / Head of the nymph Segesta left, wearing tainia; ΣEΓEΣTAZIB retrograde below; all within shallow concave circle. Hurter, Didrachmenprägung 72d (V24/R38 – this coin); SNG ANS 636 (same dies); SNG Lloyd 1167 (same dies); SNG München 846 (same dies); SNG Ashmolean 1874 = Weber 1503 (same dies). Good VF. Well centered on a broad flan. Very difficult to find this issue so well struck.
