L • PLAVTIVS below, Facing mask of Medusa with disheveled hair, coiled serpents at either side of face / PLANCVS below, Aurora, draped and winged, flying right, head facing slightly left, holding reins in each hand and palm frond in left, conducting four rearing horses of the sun. Crawford 453/1a; CRI 29; Sydenham 959; Kestner 3561-3562; BMCRR Rome 4004; Plautia 15. Good VF, deep mauve-gray toning, area of flat strike, as usual, a shallow, narrow edge test cut.
