SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos I Soter. 281-261 BC. Æ (16.5mm, 3.10 g, 3h). Sogdian imitation. Laureate head of Apollo facing slightly right / Anchor. ECSE pp. 4–5, and pl. 1, 4 (this coin). Mottled brown surfaces, with spots of red-brown, a few cleaning marks. VF. Unique.

This interesting Sogdian imiation employs a hybrid typology from disparate issues of Aï Khanoum: an obverse from Antiochos I’s latest bronze issue at that mint, and a reverse from the co-regeny bronzes struck under Seleukos I. While this combination of types is known on a handful of issues from Sogdiana, this coin is the sole example where the royal name on the reverse is that of Antiochos, rather than Seleukos.
