BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 480-430 BC. AR Third Nomos (16.5mm, 2.57 g, 9h). Tripod, legs surmounted by wreaths and terminating in lion's feet / Incuse eagle flying right, leg in relief. Attianese 55 var. (position of ethnic); HN Italy 2109. Lightly toned, granular surfaces, edge marks. Near VF. Very rare third nomos with eagle incuse.
