Richly toned and much as made.

Ex Robert P. Puddester Collection; D. Fore Collection (Part II, Baldwin’s 82, 31 May 2013), lot 890.

While Shah ‘Alam’s tenth regnal year commenced during the year 1768, approval for the striking of these half-mohurs was not issued until March 1769. This extremely rare pattern can therefore be dated to a short window between March and May 1769, when production began.
