This handsome coin was struck as a presentation piece. Jahangir issued both round and square heavy mohurs during the early years of his reign, before they were replaced by standard weight issues during his sixth year. The couplet on the obverse translates as ‘He made the face of money to shine with the hues of sun and moon.’
