Pupienus. AD 238. AR Denarius (19mm, 2.98 g, 6h). Rome mint. 1st emission. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Pax seated left on throne, holding olive branch and scepter. RIC IV 4; BMCRE 46-7; RSC 22. Lightly toned, some underlying luster remains, a few tiny green deposits. EF. Wonderful portrait.
