Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.28 g, 6h). Rome mint, 4th officina. 2nd emission. Laureate and cuirassed bust right, wearing long beard / Salus enthroned left, feeding from patera serpent coiled around and rising from altar to left, and petting serpent. RIC IV 85; Clay Issue 2; RSC 114b (Antioch). Toned with some iridescence, flan crack, some metal flaws. Good VF.
