AUSTRIA, Holy Roman Empire. Josef I. As King of the Romans, 1690-1705. Set of eight (8) AR Medallets. Dated 1690, though likely struck 18th or 19th century. Eight silver medallets, each about 17mm in diameter, depicting the electors of the Holy Roman Empire: the archbishops of Mainz, Köln, and Trier, the Kings of Bayern and Sachsen, the Margrave of Brandenburg, and the Count Palatine on the Rhine, together with Josef I as King of the Romans. See Rauch 77, lot 834 for anther example. Richly toned with deep purple and blue iridescence. EF. In brown-velvet lined green case reading “HJ – Les Huit Electeurs du Saint-Empire 1690.” Eight (8) pieces in lot.
