THRACE, Pautalia. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ Pentassarion (29mm, 13.75 g, 12h). Struck AD 215-217. Laureate heroic bust right, slight drapery on left shoulder / Hygieia standing right, feeding serpent from patera over altar and Asclepius standing left, leaning on serpent-entwined staff, Telesphorus stands behind altar; garlanded tetrastyle temple in background, pediment decorated with coiled serpent. Tachev Pautalia 355 (O92/R323); Ruzicka 619 var. (no temple); Varbanov 5018. Green patina, numerous cleaning scratches. VF. Extrmely rare, only three in CoinArchives.
