HOR., the Ehrenpforte (elaborate triumphal arch), inscribed CAROLVS/VI. in two lines on central attic; NORIMBERGA./MDCCXII./V. in three lines / VIRTVS CONSTANTIA FORTIS (triangular stop), Hercules standing slightly right on floor, supporting globe on shoulders, on either side, the Pillars of Hercules, one inscribed CONSTANTIA; the other, FORTITVDO; PHM to right; club on ground to right of Hercules; PLVS VLTRA/CAROLVM/CAROLVS. in three lines in exergue. Erlanger 1075. Toned with iridescence, some marks, mount removed. Good VF. |
