Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis around neck / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt; Lς (date) to left, Π to right. Svoronos –; Olivier 1957 (obv. die D326); SNG Copenhagen –; DCA 40 (same obv. die as illustration). Minor deposits, cleaning marks, die wear on reverse. Good VF. Extremely rare, only one example noted by Olivier (in Bucharest), two additional in CoinArchives, and the DCA plate coin is from that author’s collection. There were no examples in the Paphos hoard. |
