CILICIA, Tarsus. Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. Æ (36mm, 24.40 g, 6h). Laureate and cuirassed bust right, seen form behind / Two temples, each seen in three-quarter perspective. SNG BN 1473 (same obverse die); SNG Levante 1022 var. (bust). Brown patina with orange earthen highlights, flan flaw on reverse. Near VF. Rare, three in CoinArchives.

The reverse reads: “Tarsus the metropolis of the three provinces, common temples of Cilicia.” The three provinces referred to are Cilicia, Isauria, and Lycaonia.
