Steatite scarab with uraeii and pharaoh’s name in hieroglyphs. Lower Egypt. New Kingdoms Period. Tuthmose III. 18th Dynasty. 1479-1425 BC. (16 mm) A scarab with a central bidirectional piercing for suspension. The back is simply engraved, defining basic features of the scarab. On the face, a central cartouche of m’n Xpr r’ (Tuthmose III) flanked by 2 uraeii facing away. Some loss at bottom. |
