Amid is one of the rarest mints for ‘Abbasid gold, and Bernardi records examples from jusr four years: AH 291, 292, 293 and 311. The present coin appears to be the only known example from the reign of al-Mu‘tadid and is also the earliest known gold coin from the mint.
