Julius Caesar. 48-47 BC. AR Denarius (3.65 g, 10h). Military mint traveling with Caesar. Diademed female head (Clementia?) right, wearing oak wreath; ^II (= 52, Caesar's age) behind / Gallic trophy holding oval shield and carnyx above bearded captive (Vercingetorix?) seated right on ground, head left, looking up at trophy, hands tied behind back, wearing neck torque. Crawford 452/5; CRI 13; Sydenham 1011; RSC 19 var. (not bearded). VF, toned, banker’s mark on obverse. Extremely rare.
